My Favorite Photos of 2024
But I love all my photos equally...
It’s been years since I’ve done any sort of “best of” collection of photos at the end of a year. But for some reason I was inspired to put one together for 2024, even though we are already half way through January of 2025. It was hard to pick just a few, there are lots of others I could have included, but here are some of my favorites of 2024 in no particular order. This is a mix of photos taken with my Nikon Z7 or Z6 and aerial photos taken with my DJI Mavic 3 Pro.
Aurora Over Point Amour Lighthouse, Labrador
Winter at Little River Lighthouse, Maine
Iceberg at Sunset, Labrador
Coast of Newfoundland
Baily’s Beads and Prominences, Total Solar Eclipse, Maine
Aurora Over SS Empire Energy Shipwreck, Newfoundland
Moon Over Head Harbour Lighthouse (aka East Quoddy Lighthouse), Campobello Island, New Brunswick
Icebergs on the Coast of Newfoundland
Moon Over Bonavista Lighthouse, Newfoundland
Orion Over West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, Maine
Fall on the Coast of Newfoundland
Sunset in Belleoram, Newfoundland
Moonrise Over Head Harbour, Campobello Island, New Brunswick
Canada Day Fireworks Over Campobello and Lubec
Winter at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, Maine
I’ve been doing a lot less night photography over the past few years. I guess I needed a break after being my primary focus for so long. I’ve also been doing a lot more drone photography because the medium-telephoto lens on the DJI Mavic 3 Pro opens up a whole new world of photography. It also has a longer telephoto lens but the resolution and dynamic range on that camera isn’t so great (each lens is fixed to its own camera sensor), so I tend to use it a lot less.
