Maine Milky Way Workshops UPDATE!
Night photography workshops on the Bold Coast of Maine!
There are still spots available in my late season Milky Way photography workshops in Lubec, Maine, 2 hours east of Acadia National Park!
Good news! I have the permit finalized for Quoddy Head State Park!
Mixed news! I’ve learned that the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse tower is going to get new paint in September. This is the red & white striped lighthouse you’ve seen in my photos. They are planning to start the work on September 2nd. This is good news in that the tower really needs new paint and it should look amazing when it’s done. The bad news is that means the tower could have scaffolding around it during the September workshops if painting takes a while due to weather or other delays. I am really hoping they get great weather and can get it painted fast.
Even if the tower isn’t good for photos in September, we have other beautiful spots for the Milky Way inside and outside of the park. See the photo at the top of this email for an example!
Available Dates:
Sep 13-16 (3 nights)
Sep 18-21 (3 nights)
Oct 11-14 (3 nights)
Oct 16-19 (3 nights)
This is a landscape photography workshop, with a focus on landscape astrophotography with the Milky Way as conditions permit. This area is also a great place for dramatic sunrises and sunsets, with lobster boats, lighthouses, harbors, and rugged coastline as our foreground. There are also opportunities to photograph wildlife including bald eagles, seals, porpoise, and whales.
We will also drive over the bridge to Campobello Island, part of Canada, for a sunset trip -- so bring your passport!
